Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information CoachLink collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We have written it to be readable — not to bury anything in legal jargon.

What data we collect

When you create an account or use CoachLink, we collect the following information:

  • Name and email address — provided when you sign up.
  • Profile information — sport preferences, skill level, and any bio or details you choose to add.
  • Profile photo — if you upload one.
  • Booking history — sessions you have booked or coached, dates, times, and notes.
  • Device and usage data — basic information like browser type and pages visited, collected automatically to keep the service running smoothly.

We only ask for what we actually need. We do not collect payment card details directly — if payments are introduced, they will be handled by a dedicated payment provider.

How we use your data

Your data is used to operate CoachLink and give you a good experience:

  • Matching players with coaches and facilitating bookings.
  • Sending booking confirmations, reminders, and cancellation notices.
  • Displaying your profile to coaches or players you are interacting with.
  • Improving the platform based on how it is used.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Email communications

CoachLink sends two types of email:

  • Transactional emails — booking confirmations, session reminders, cancellations, and password resets. These are essential to using the service and cannot be opted out of while you have an active account.
  • Product updates — occasional emails about new features or important changes. You can opt out of these at any time from your account settings or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such email.

Emails are sent via Resend, a transactional email service. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivering these messages.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in Supabase, a managed database and authentication platform. Supabase stores data in the United States (AWS us-east-1 region). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. CoachLink itself is hosted on Vercel, whose infrastructure is also US-based. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

Third parties

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run CoachLink:

Supabase

Database, file storage, and user authentication.

Resend

Transactional email delivery.

Vercel

Web hosting and deployment infrastructure.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use data brokers.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information via your account settings.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Export a copy of your data on request.

Cookies

CoachLink uses a minimal number of cookies. We set a session cookie to keep you logged in and a theme preference cookie to remember your light/dark mode choice. We do not use tracking cookies, third-party advertising cookies, or analytics cookies that identify you personally. No cookie consent banner is needed because we only use strictly necessary cookies.
